Taijiquan or Tai Chi as it is now commonly known is a form of Traditional Chinese Martial Arts. It is an ancient system of movement and mental focus designed to develop the body, mind, and spirit. Taiji(太極) is most often translated to Supreme Ultimate and quan(拳) translates to mean Fist. Traditional Taijiquan training often included empty hand forms, weapon forms, pushing hands, and Qigong(氣功).

With a focus on human biomechanics and physiology, training begins with the principles of posture and basic movement patterns. Followed by the practicing of slow movement sequences. Develop the body, cultivate the mind.

Taijiquan strengthens the bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and fascia, while improving flexibility, coordination, and balance. Taijiquan cultivates peace of mind and is often considered moving meditation.
