Heather has been coming to Imagine for  years, continuing her yoga journey as well as becoming a Usui Reiki Master Teacher and Karuna Level 2 Healer.

Heather has been involved in many great programs at Imagine. She was one of the original Peaceful Kids teachers. She also enjoyed teaching meditation and peace to adults in our SoulFull Sunday series. She has been apprenticing in the Yoga Teacher Training program for the last year, and has recently become ready to start teaching classes on her own. She teaches a Gentle Yoga class on Wednesdays at 10am for adults, and then hosts a Meditation for Kids program on Tuesdays at 6pm at Imagine. She also donates her time once a month in our Karma Yoga program.

In her day life, Heather has been a veterinarian for about 10 years and enjoys interacting with her patients as much as their owners. She has a special affinity for health care workers, whether they are seeing to the health of 2 legged or 4 leggeds! Adding Reiki healing to her busy practice has been fabulous for the animals, who love Reiki.

Outside of Imagine and work, Heather loves nature and enjoys spending time with her two children and husband.

Understanding Compassion Fatigue-
A 3 month workshop series
Begins Sunday, February 17th
11am- 1pm
What is compassion fatigue? Are you a caretaker, health care professional, animal care professional, or teacher? Do you ever feel burnt out? Like you're running on empty? Stuck in your job? You may be suffering from compassion fatigue!
Find out how it may be affecting your life (and those around you) and what you can do about it. We will be learning simple, basic meditation techniques, yoga poses, and discussing books and other resources on the subject.
The goal is for this to become a monthly discussion group with a book club type feel. This class is open to everyone no matter what your job may be. It also is a safe, confidential and protected environment for us to share our thoughts and feelings if you feel compelled to do so.
The first book I will be discussing is "Trauma Stewardship - An Everyday Guide to Caring for Self While Caring for Others" by Laura van Dernoot Lipsky with Connie Burk. Advanced reading not required.
Cost: $25, Light Refreshments Served
